Discipleship

Building relationships, discipleship
Jesus spent three years of His life discipling twelve people who changed the world. Jesus also wants to use us to change the world as we disciple others. He taught His disciples the importance of discipleship by making it a lifestyle. He tells us in Matthew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..."
We have learned that many people in Ecuador do not know what it means to truly follow Jesus, we look forward to facilitating small group Bible Studies in our home. As Jesus reveals Himself through His word, we are excited at all the possibilities of new believers in Jesus Christ. We are also excited about being a part of God's ministry as He changes the lives of many pastors, and other people, including ours. Through this ministry, with the Holy Spirit's guidance we hope to make disciples that will make disciples among their family, friends and communities.
Graham will facilitate the study material, "The Life of Christ", which includes six different books that are presented in a simple way, but the message is deep. Meeting once a week in our home for up to two hours with each group, the study lasts approximately three years. Through this study, people learn to read the Bible for what it really says, and apply it to their lives. After the participants have completed the course, they are encouraged to start their own small group.

Children's Ministries

Sunday School at the Santo Domingo EUMC
Known as Kid’s Club in Ecuador, children’s ministries are touching
many lives. Kid’s Clubs meet each Saturday morning in parks, fields
and schools – wherever there is space and children. One day we hope to meet at our home. A typical Club will have 30-80 children who come together to sing and dance to Jesus and to learn about what it means to have a personal relationship with Him. Incorporating music, puppets, skits, large group and small group lessons that touch everyone in their learning style. Children and parents also receive a meal ... feeding tummies and souls. Led by Ecuadorians for Ecuadorians, it is a way to disciple children and youth. It also offers an open door to evangelize the parents of the children who come.

Evangelism

Serving with Teams and Interns and Nationals, sharing God's Word in Community.
There are many opportunities for evangelism; by meeting people young and old on the street, in parks, making friends, and by making friends with our neighbors with the hope they see Christ living in us. We seek to share Christ with those in our surrounding communities as well. As we build relationships, it is our hope the Holy Spirit opens hearts to join us for children's ministries and Bible studies so they can get to know more about Jesus and for their relationship with Him to grow closer and closer every day.
Music Ministry

Graham playing guitar for children's ministry.
We are excited about sharing the Word of God through music. Whether teaching
praise and worship music with hand movements during children's ministries, playing guitar or singing in church ... music is a wonderful way to lead people closer to Christ through worship. It also gives us the opportunity to encourage people to become a part of a discipleship group so that they can study together and grow in their relationship with the Lord. Praising Jesus through playing instruments and singing is a wonderful way to draw closer to Him, and an excellent way to preach the gospel.

Women's Ministry

Ministering to women in the church and community.
Taking care of her family members and accepting all the responsibilities is the first duty of Ecuador women. The Ecuadorian women are loyal and faithful by their nature putting themselves last before all others. A Bible Study about women of the Bible for women of Ecuador, among other studies not only offers Sharon the opportunity to disciple these ladies but helps to build their faith in Jesus, to put their trust in Him and to know they can be used by God for His glory.
Short-Term Mission Teams

Evangelism/Medical/Dental and Construction Mission
Receiving teams from the United States on short-term mission trips can be beneficial to God's ministry in Ecuador. We were both called to full-time field service while serving for many years on short-term, 10 day mission trips. The team gets to experience the life of a missionary serving full-time and have many opportunities to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus through Evangelism/ Medical/Dental/Optical Missions, Leading VBS, sharing cultures, learning from each other, and through Praise and Worship alongside those they've traveled long distances to meet. Short-term mission teams share the gifts and talents God has given them to bless the missionaries on the front lines serving day to day far from home and family and friends, while blessing the nationals with their love for Jesus and for them. At the end of a mission, team members leave feeling more blessed than they ever imagined possible by the people they came to serve.
